The Ocala Symphony Orchestra

The finale performance of the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh’s season includes two landmark works on June 3, 2023. First up will be Felix Mendelssohn’s Double Concerto for Violin, Piano and Strings, featuring violinist Maureen Conlon Gutierrez and pianist Rodrigo Ojeda as soloists. The program concludes with one of Richard Strauss’s recognized landmark achievements, Metamorphosen.

I am delighted to have been chosen as the Allentown Symphony Orchestra Fellow for their Classical Concert #5 featuring COLERIDGE-TAYLOR Overture to The Song of Hiawatha, ELGAR Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in B minor, Op. 61 with Leonard Fu as soloist, and TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No. 4.
COP performs three compelling works on March 11, 2023. The concert includes Igor Stravinsky’s masterpiece, Soldier’s Tale, a remarkable work that COP is ideally suited to present. This concert further includes the Pittsburgh premiere of “Telephone” by contemporary composer and University of Pittsburgh faculty member Amy Williams. Rounding out the evening will be Darius Milhaud’s The Creation of the World.
On February 5, 2023, COP will offer a program that celebrates the remarkable talents of composer, violinist, and conductor Alyssa Wang. COP is commissioning an original work from Wang, a violin concerto titled Swept Away, and this program will feature its world premiere performance with Wang as soloist. COP will also present Jozef Haydn’s Symphony No. 44, his “Mourning” Symphony, and Sinfonietta No. 1 by Malcolm Arnold.
On February 4, 2023, COP will offer a program that celebrates the remarkable talents of composer, violinist, and conductor Alyssa Wang. A highly gifted pianist as well as a composer, Ike will perform from her repertoire that has been featured on NPR, where she has been celebrated as “a truly compelling” performer. This program will also include Edvard Grieg’s Holberg Suite and Gershwin's Lullaby for Strings.
